Business Innovation is one of EFL’s highest-rated leadership programs, where you, as a participant, work over 9 days to identify and realize concrete business opportunities for your organization.
The program provides you with tools, methods, and knowledge to develop your business based on increased customer insight. Engage your colleagues in the change process, and create real impact through new innovative solutions in products, services, and business models.
We explore the technological opportunities brought by AI and digitalization, focusing on meeting changing customer needs and increasing sales to both existing and new customer groups.

Structure
The program is offered once a year, starting and taking place in the fall. It consists of a total of 9 full days, divided into 3 modules, each comprising 3 consecutive full days in a residential format.
Throughout the program, you will actively work on a business opportunity defined by your organization’s business strategy. The goal is that by the end of the program, you will have validated the new business opportunity and prepared it for launch within your organization.
In addition to lectures, workshops, and case study discussions, we will focus on the key areas and challenges you face as a participant. The program is adapted and developed according to the participants’ needs to ensure that everyone gains maximum benefit from their participation.
MODULE 1: Challenge – Strategy and Customer Focus
How well do we really know our customers and their needs? Over three days, we work with tools and methods to generate deeper insights and knowledge about our customer groups and our market. Based on this, we create conditions to strengthen and renew our offerings using both new technology and proven strategic processes.
Examples of content:
business model design, customer journey analysis, design thinking.
MODULE 2: Change – New Business Ideas, Teams, and Organization
In this module, we test hypotheses about how we can solve customer needs and how best to bring new business ideas to market. We go through the key challenges in driving innovation and development in both small and large organizations to maximize existing business and create conditions for growth and transformation. We will also delve into the importance of the team and how to create a well-functioning and high-performing team.

teams and organization, from idea to business prototype, securing the value of corporate innovation through portfolio theory, digitalization and AI.
MODULE 3: Charge – Implementation and Change Management
The third module focuses on implementing and scaling up new initiatives – the greatest challenge for any organization. With a focus on your leadership, we address cultural, organizational, and employee-related issues to drive the change journey with all the important variables it requires.

Business Innovation provides you with the tools and knowledge to develop your business towards increased growth and a stronger market position. Whether driven by threats or opportunities in your market, new technologies, or increased competition, you can strengthen your business by accelerating transformation and fostering a curious and learning culture.
During the program, we work with theories and models that cover:
- Development and implementation of business strategy and the importance of being able to pivot when the market changes.
- Organizational change and culture as tools for development.
- Methods for business development through the creation of new services, products, and business models.
- How to define and create customer value and enhance your customer offerings.
- New technologies as enablers for companies and their stakeholders.

Program Director: Tomas de Souza
an alumni of the EFL Executive MBA program. Tomas is a business design and development consultant with a strong focus on making future business potential tangible and attainable for both new and traditional businesses. His most recent prior position was Director of Innovation for Bonnier News, where he was responsible for the development of new products and services for the media conglomerate.
Anna Brattström
Anna Brattström is a researcher in innovation, people, trust and culture. Anna is, among other things, docent in entrepreneurship at Lund University and has been a visiting researcher at Stanford University. Anna is also involved as a teacher and lecturer at EFL’s tailor-made courses.
EFL’s IMPACT Pedagogy
EFL’s IMPACT teaching method involves building your learning around your own critical strategic challenges and developing the tools that suit you best, given your and your organization’s conditions. The program provides you with experiential learning and equips you with new methods to develop business models supported by new technology.
By combining theory, current research, and exercises with practical tips and advice, we create a powerful combination that provides you with the tools and skills to identify, evaluate, and deliver concrete business development projects that strengthen and grow your organization.

Program fee
SEK 57,500
Members of EFL Business Network have 10% discount on the program fee.
Prices are listed exclusive of VAT. Residential session costs (meals and accomodations) are not included. The costs of the residential sessions are estimated to be SEK 6,000–6,500 per session and will be invoiced separately after they are incurred.
Language
The program is normally offered in Swedish. If English-speaking participants are enrolled in the program, both English and Swedish can be used during the program.
